Construction Industry Professional (CIP) Designation

The Building Industry Association of the Big Bend Construction Industry Professional (CIP) designation is earned by members who have demonstrated high levels of education, experience, and customer service… qualities that are important to consumers in selecting individuals to meet their home building, remodeling, or product/service needs. After earning the designation, CIPs are required to meet continuing education requirements to assure that they are abreast of building code changes, industry trends, and consumers’ preferences. CIPs have gone “the extra mile” to demonstrate their professionalism and high standards of performance.

The BIA of the Big Bend (BIABB) and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) shine the spotlight on industry professionals who go the extra mile to attain advanced training and achieve specialized designations, especially those with the Certified Aging in Place Specialists (CAPS) designation.

Professionals with the CAPS designation are helping home owners throughout our area identify practical and comprehensive aging-in-place solutions. Having been trained in the unique needs of older adults, CAPS remodelers and builders are well versed in a wide variety of techniques to enhance a home’s aesthetics, livability and value.

The ultimate symbol of the building professional, is the Graduate Master Builder (GMB) designation is for experienced veterans. Before earning the GMB designation process, a building professional must have earned the Certified Green Building (CGB) designation or the (Certified Green Remodeler) CGR designation with five years of building experience, or 10 years of building experience and successful completion of three CGB/CGR courses.

The BIA of the Big Bend takes great pride in recognizing the importance of those members who have attained additional credentials in their field.
