Inshore Fishing Tournament - October 26th, 2024

Calling all anglers! The BIABB is proud to host another BIA Inshore Fishing Tournament at Shields Marina in St. Marks, Florida on Saturday, October 26th. Our proud sponsors have allowed us to have a $6000 Total Cash Payout!

Schedule:
Wednesday, October 23rd: Captains Party at the BIABB Office (3231 Capital Medical Blvd, Tallahassee, FL 32308) from 5:30-7:00 pm to go over tournament rules, answer questions, and enjoy food and drinks!
Saturday, October 26th: Lines in at 6:00 am with last call for weigh-ins at 4:00 pm, followed by food, drinks, and payouts!

Tournament Rules and Regulations are subject to change at any time through the completion of the Pre-Tournament Captain's Party on Wednesday, October 23rd, 2024. The Captain's Party will be on Wednesday, October 23 at the BIA office at 3231 Capital Medical Blvd. An overview of all official tournament rules, reviews, questions, and answers will be handled at this event.
- Anglers are responsible for staying current on all Rules and Regulations through the completion of the
tournament. - Rules listed on the BIA Website the day of the tournament are the official rules that will be followed.
- It is strongly recommended that one angler per boat/kayak be present at the Captain’s Party on 10/23/24.
- Grand Slam prize will be awarded to the Angler who has the largest (by weight) of each of the 3 combined
species. - Each individual angler shall check in for weigh-in between 2-4 pm. Anglers that do not check in to weigh
their fish will not be eligible for weigh-in. Anglers will not be allowed to check in after 4 pm. - This is a per Angler Tournament. All anglers must be paid and registered prior to the end of the Captain’s Party on 10/23/24. No refund of registration fees will be given.
- All persons on the boat must be paid for & counted – Hired Captains or Tour Guides or commercial
fisherman are NOT PERMITTED. Eligible Species: Sheepshead, Redfish and Speckled Trout, - Points of entry and exit for all boats must be in Franklin, Wakulla, Jefferson, or Taylor County.
- Fishing starts at 6:00 am on Saturday, 10/26/26. No lines in water prior to this time.
- All fishing and angling methods must comply with current Federal, State and U.S.C.G. Safety and Fishing
Regulations. Florida Saltwater and Fishing regulations will be enforced. - All FISH must be legal in State and Federal Waters at the time of the tournament and must meet State &
Federal measurement requirements and must be in full body form. Florida Saltwater and Fishing
regulations will be enforced. - All boats subject to State and Federal regulations and are subject to inspection. The Fish listed are also
subject to change due to any changes with the State and Federal regulations. - Fish must be in complete form (from head to tail). No rotten or mutilated fish will be weighed. Fish must be caught by hook and line. Handheld rods and reels only. One angler must hook, fight, and bring fish up to point of net.
- Eligible fish may be caught by land, boat, or kayak. No transferring of fish from boat to boat.
- All fish will be weighed in at Shields Marina & may be brought in by boat or car.
Tournament weigh-in will begin at 2 pm, Oct 26. Anglers who do not check in for weigh-in by 4 pm will not
be eligible for weigh-in. - Any fish being weighed in containing lead or any other foreign matter will be subject to disqualification as
determined by the weighmaster. All fish need to be properly cared for. - In the event of a tie, the anglers who have one species that tie in weight, the purse amounts of the
placements shall be combined and the anglers shall split the total purse amount. - Tournament Winners Must Be Present at Awards to Receive Winning Check(s).
- Anyone receiving a check or prize valued at $600 or greater must complete a W-9 form. Winners will be announced, and presentation of checks will begin after weigh in.
- The Honor System applies throughout the entire tournament and weigh in.
If there should be a dispute of any kind, the decision of the tournament committee will be final.
It is up to the discretion of the registered angler to determine whether his or her craft (if fishing from boat) is seaworthy for existing sea conditions. Participants are encouraged to keep abreast of any marine.
The BIA encourages the live release of all fish not needed for the tournament.
All decisions of the tournament committee and weighmaster are final.
This is a recreational tournament…Recreational Rules apply.
Fish can only be weighed in the presence of the registered angler from that boat that caught the fish to be officially entered into the tournament. Each angler must present their own fish for weigh in.
Payout for Grand Slams is 80% to Winning Angler and 20% to the BIA of the Total Funds Collected for a Slam.
Rule Violations, the eligibility of entrants or entered fish, disqualifications, and any other matters not specifically covered by these rules will be decided by the Weigh-In Judge in consultation with tournament committee.
ALL FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE: Rainy or inclement weather constitutes a fishing day. In case of unsafe weather, at the discretion of the tournament committee, fishing may be cancelled or postponed. If cancelled or postponed, purse will be added to a later date.
Only one Fish per Angler per species is eligible for placement and purse winning.
